2010 saw the 200^th anniversary of the death of Admiral Lord Collingwood.  A year-long Festival commemorated the event with a world-wide celebration of his life and achievements.

The 1805 Club, the Asociacion Menorca Britannia, the Royal Navy, the City of Newcastle, the Borough of North Tyneside, the town of Morpeth, Northumberland, the municipality of Mahon, Menorca and the towns of Collingwood, New Zealand and Collingwood, Ontario, Canada all engaged in a varied programme of events across the year.
