Thursday 19th February 2026: 2.00pm at the Newcastle upon Tyne Trinity House

Terry Walton takes a look at ‘Buckler’s Hard’, perhaps one of the lesser-known naval shipyards. It produced over fifty wooden warships for the Royal Navy, including three ships that fought at Trafalgar – HMS EURYALUS, HMS SWIFTSURE and Nelson’s favourite, HMS AGAMEMNON.
A small maritime museum exists on the shipbuilding site today and the Master Shipbuilder’s house is now a hotel.
Free admission to Society members, £4 admission to visitors. Light refreshments available.
We look forward to seeing you and please spread the word!
Fair Winds!
