Summer Outing: A few years ago, we held one of our talks in the Watch House of the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade and, reflecting the interest in the building that drew, we have always said we would go back. Regular attenders of the annual Trafalgar Day ‘Toast the Admiral’ ceremonies at Tynemouth are also used to going in the Watch-House for the convivial and warming ‘soup and sandwiches’ that follow. We are therefore pleased this year to be going for a full and private guided tour, on which we will learn more about the activities of the Brigade and the history of life-saving at the mouth of the Tyne. Voluntary donations to the TVLB’s running costs appreciated on the night. |
