MORPETH:
The images here are from the short memorial service in the foyer of the Town Hall and the unveiling of the new information board at the Stanners, which followed the service. The board was designed by a small group of pupils from King Edward VI School in Morpeth, The wider project, which includes more information boards around the town, has been funded by Northumberland County Council, Morpeth Town Council and the Greater Morpeth Development Trust. The Collingwood Society made a contribution towards the costs associated with this specific information board.

Despite the appearance of a bright Autumn’s day, high winds prevented the ceremony taking place up at the Monument and the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade kindly hosted the event in the lee of their Watch House.
