Small Arms of the Napoleonic Era

Tuesday 10th March 2026:  7.30pm at the Miller Theatre,  Newcastle upon Tyne Royal Grammar School.

A mixture of issued arms and privately-owned weapons could be seen in any close naval action of the Trafalgar era.  Be it boarding an enemy ship or a landing party, cutlasses, daggers, muskets, pistols, clubs and cudgels were the chosen tools for the job.  Local historian and widely-published author John Sadler, assisted by Bev Palin, who between them run ‘Time Bandits’ – a well-established Northumberland-based Living History / Historical Interpretation Team – bring an exciting display to the Miller Theatre’s stage.

I wouldn’t sit in the front seats if I were you….

Free admission to Society Members and staff, pupils of RGS and parents, £4 donation requested from visitors.  Doors open 7pm.  A bar will be available prior to the event.

We look forward to seeing you and please spread the word!  The more we can get, the better will be the atmosphere for what promises to be an entertaining and informative experience.
