Commander Andrew Collier RNR, DL is another Society member making his presentation debut this year.  A past-Commanding Officer of Gateshead’s RNR training establishment, Cdr Collier will be telling us about the five RN ships to bear the name CALLIOPE, in addition to explaining the role of the current ‘stone frigate’ just across the river.  Not only a theme of local interest to Tynesiders, the histories of the ships themselves make for engaging material.
