Society Secretary John Flynn describes this significant event in the French Revolutionary Wars, where a British fleet under Admiral Sir John Jervis defeated a larger Spanish fleet under Admiral Don José de Córdoba y Ramos near Cape St. Vincent, Portugal.  The battle is known for Nelson boarding and capturing two ships by what later became known as his ‘patent bridge’.  Collingwood commanded HMS EXCELLENT.  John will tell us more!
