The “Trafalgar Medal” and other awards EVENT CANCELLED

Thursday 8th September 2022:  The Newcastle upon Tyne Trinity House:  7.30pm

(THE TRUSTEES OF THE COLLINGWOOD SOCIETY HAVE DEEMED IT APPROPRIATE AND CORRECT TO OBSERVE THE DESIGNATED PERIOD OF OFFICIAL MOURING, FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II)

Society Chairman Stephen Healy relates the history of naval medals, both official and unofficial, up to and following the Georgian era, culminating in the often misunderstood and incorrectly named “Trafalgar Medal”. Plenty of anecdotes, plenty of history – profit, prestige, patriotism, discrimination and reward – they’re all there!

Free admission to Society members, £3 admission to visitors.
